STANLEY, Glenn - Age 83, died August 26, 2017. Services will be held Thursday, August 31, 2017, at 11 AM at Gaines United Methodist Church, 117 W. Clinton St., Gaines. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Gaines United Methodist Church. Glenn was born October 28, 1933, in Salyersville, KY, the son of the late Tollie and Myrtle (Patrick) Stanley. He married Shirley Kessler on September 17, 1960, in Chelsea, MI. He owned and operated Glenn's Tree Service for 31 years. Glenn was a past member of Gaines Village Council, serving for 14 years, and was a Fire Fighter for the Village of Gaines for 16 years. Glenn liked hunting, fishing, trap shooting, and any outdoor activity. He also enjoyed cooking, BBQ's, and making candy. Surviving are wife, Shirley, of Gaines; children, Lori (Randal) Willett of Lansing, Lisa (Robert Akers) Conner of Fenton; granddaughter, Kelsey Conner of Fenton; sisters, Lillian (Robert) Glaser of Florida, Pansy Allen of Stockbridge, Patsy Stanley of Texas, Sandy (Robert) Wilson of Texas; brother, Delmar Stanley of Alabama; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by sister, Lois Stanley; brothers, Darrell Stanley and Wayne Stanley. Online tributes can be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
