ALGUIRE, Andrew Bradley “Andy” – of Montrose, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019. The funeral will take place at 11AM Monday, February 25 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 400 N. Saginaw St., in Montrose. Burial in Montrose Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose on Sunday from 1PM until 8PM and at the church on Monday from 10AM until the time of Mass at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions in memory of Andy Alguire be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County, G-3325 S. Dort Hwy, Burton, MI 48529.
Andy was born April 3, 1952, in Flint, Michigan, the youngest of five children of William Thomas Alguire, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth (Bradley) Alguire. He graduated from Gerrish Higgins High School in Roscommon and attended Central Michigan University. Andy worked for General Motors Truck & Bus and also Aftermath Professionals. After a long courtship, he married Linda Persails in 2002.
Andy would always say, “I never take one day of my life for granted. I’m the luckiest man alive!” He enjoyed many travel excursions with his wife, Linda, renovating their farm house, gardening and walking in the fields, grilling and chilling with family and friends, and rescuing strays. He was blessed with an amazing wit, an extraordinary memory, a droll sense of humor, and a generous nature. Andy was a colorful raconteur and an accomplished writer. He will be sadly missed and joyously remembered by all who knew him, including every stray in the county.
Surviving Andy are his wife, Linda Alguire; children Alan Alguire, Abram (Leanne) Alguire and Mary Ellen Owens; stepchildren Ryan (Tracy) Persails, Joe Persails and Nick Persails (Rachel Craine); 11 grandchildren; in- laws, Vern and Mary Albert; siblings Steve (Sharon) Alguire, Bill Alguire III, and Anne Louise (Rick) Meeks; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family members and dear friends.
