O'DEA, James F. "Jim" – of Clio, age 77, died Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw. Funeral services will be 10:30AM Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Fr. Bob McGraw officiating. Burial in New Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Tuesday from 3-9PM, Scripture service will be held at 7PM. Contributions may be made to Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
James was born March 3, 1935 in Flint to the late James and Mary (Roach) O'Dea. He married Helen (Teahen) O'Dae on June 1, 1957 in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Jim served in the US Army from 1955 until 1957. He was employed with Chevrolet Flint Manufacturing for 38 years. Jim was a member of Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church where he also served as an usher. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Ancient Order of Hiberians, and a past member of the Clio Country Club. Jim was an avid golfer, truly enjoyed life and loved spending time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving are: wife, Helen; daughter, Rose (Deland) Pickelmann of Birch Run; son, Jim ( Lorri) O'Dea of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Tyson, Kurt, Garrit Pickelmann, Jimmy and Colin O'Dea; great granddaughter, Skylar; siblings, Sr. Noeleta O'Dea (IHM), Mary Furlette, Pat (Tim) McGillen; several nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by; siblings, Frank O'Dea, Doris Gallagher, Sue Hennessey, Rose O'Dea, Loretta Mulcahy.
