ROOT, Lyndon G. – of Davison, age 90, passed away August 4, 2016 at Brookdale Assisted Living. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Monday, August 8, 2016 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Jim Offrink officiating. Private interment will take place in Millington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Sunday. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heritage United Church or charity of donor’s choice.

Lynn was born in Millington, MI on April 4, 1926, son of the late George F. and Ethel R. (Howard) Root. He married Audrey Jean Anderson on March 27, 1947 in Davison. Lynn worked in sales for 20 years and was employed at Fisher Body I for 17 years, retiring in 1984. Together, Lynn and Jean also ran a catering business for 25 years; Lynn was well known locally as “The Pancake Man”.

Lynn is survived by his wife of 69 years, Audrey Jean Root; children, Diana (Glen) VanAntwerp, Larry (Sandy) Root; grandchildren, Jeremy (Jennifer) VanAntwerp, Sara (Rob) Harrison; great-grandchildren, Lydia, James, Rebekah, Margaret, Bronwyn, John, Helen, Iain, Elizabeth; step-grandchildren, Jill (Steve) St. John, Brian (Patty) Larmor, Jason (Lauren) Larmor; step-great-grandchildren, Zach, Olivia, Autumn Rose; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his seven older sisters; step-great-granddaughter, Emma Grace.
