SHORT, Milford – of Clio, formerly of Hale Michigan age 70, died Monday, June 15, 2020 at his residence. A private service will be held at O’Guinn Family Funeral Homes, Clio. Family friend Kim Christensen officiating.
Milford was born April 18, 1950 in Rural-Hill, Michigan to the late Lafe and Lucy (Turland) Short. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam war. He returned to begin work as a roofer and firefighter before working for GM for 30 years as a forklift driver in assembly plants and retiring in 2003. On June 21, 1985 he married Marcia Bond. They raised their 4 children in the Clio area. Milford was a kind and caring man, always helpful to others. He enjoyed “bargain hunting”, auctions, rummage sales, fishing, hunting, bowling, and spending time with friends and family. He was a member of the American Legion post 0225 in Mt. Morris. Milford was loyal to his wife, and loved being a grandpa. He was known the saying “If you can’t fix it with duct tape, is it really worth saving?”
Milford is survived by: wife Marcia; Children: Autum Short of St. Joseph, Chris Short of St. Joseph, Amanda (Wayne) Walter of Mt. Morris, Joe (Dawn) Heath of Clio; grandchildren: Drew, Brandy, Hannah, Boston, McKenna, Keeli, Jake, Ezerah, Sarah; great-granddaughter: Everli; Sister: Pauline Inman, Arlene Loomis, Linda (Ron) Allen, Lucille Stevens; Brothers: Alan Short, George Short, Ray (Phyllis) Short; Special friends: Carl and Marie Thompson. He was preceded in death by Brothers: Eugene, Bob, Don, Leonard, Marvin, Alvin; Sisters: Sharon, Debbie; In-Laws: Bernard and Ruth Bond; Best Friend: Larry Stephens; special dogs: Holly and Cocoa.
