Whitehead, Josephine "Joann" - of Mt. Morris, age 84, died Tuesday, February 27, 2013 at Maplewoods Manor in Clio. Funeral services will be held 11AM Friday, March 1, 2013 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Malcolm Murray officiating. Cremation to follow. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 1-9 PM and Friday from 9AM until time of service. Contributions may be made to Put a Child in the Game foundation.
Jo Ann was born July 4, 1928 in Detroit to the late Albert and Josephine (Bruckner) Marek. She married Joseph Roy Prevost in 1946. Jo Ann later married Bruce Whitehead in 1965, he preceded her in death in 1982. She was a piano teacher and program assistant at Michigan State University Extension. Jo Ann was a member of United Church of God. She started CAP club (concerned about people), was the senior advisor for Put a Child in the Game Foundation, and a member of the Michigan Association of Extension Homemakers. She enjoyed piano, mentoring, and loved her family. Jo Ann was very loving, caring and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are: children, Lynn E. Burton of Mt. Morris, David (Jo) Prevost of Clio, Mary (John) Davis of Mt. Morris, John Prevost of Mt. Morris, Anthony (Sue) Prevost of Flushing, Matthew (Mary) Prevost of Andrews TX, Donald (Andrea) Prevost of Andrews, TX, Jo Ann Prevost of Benzonia; step children, Bruce Whitehead of Davison, Steven Whitehead of Pontiac; 22 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; brother, Albert (Nancy) Marek of Washington, DC, half sister Kathy (Gary) Chapman, She was preceded in death by: sons, Robert Prevost, Luke Prevost, Mark Prevost; step son, Richard Whitehead; sister, Dorothy Bowden, brother; Richard Marek; half brother, Joe Molnar; daughter in law Denise Prevost.
