Bettie was born in Flint, MI on January 28, 1930, daughter of the late Ralph and Mildred (Brown) Hicks. She married the love of her life, Robert J. Hodack on February 16, 1952 and he preceded her in death after 52 years of marriage on May 31, 2005. Bettie lived the Catholic Faith every day of her life. She lived a life of truth and faith in the Lord. She loved all of God’s Creation. Bettie found joy in rocking babies, she willingly took any animal into her home, and she could make any plant grow just from the touch of her “green thumb”. She had an amazing smile and the most contagious laugh. Bettie knew that every day of her life was a gift from God and she truly lived a life full of JOY. She spent a lot of her time dedicated to St. Joseph’s Church in East Jordan, Mom’s and Tots and the Good Samaritan. Bettie was an amazing mother and grandmother and loved her family deeply.
Bettie is survived by her children, Patsy Brink, Robert (Rita) Hodack, Jack (Laurie) Hodack; six grandchildren, Anthony (Tie) Hodack, Emily (Anthony) Pignatelli, Amanda (Tony) Casciano, Gina (Brent) Sullivan, Michael (Lisa) Hodack, Clint (Anna) Galvas; twelve great grandchildren; many other wonderful family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Rosemary, Cecil, and Mel; daughter, Mary Ann Hodack and her son-in-law, Chuck Brink. Thank you for showing us how to live our lives to the fullest grandma! We love you so much and will miss you dearly.
