SHANNON, Terry Duane – of Cheboygan, MI, formerly of Davison, MI, age 73, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Monday, June 19, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Tom Harvey officiating. Interment, with Military Honors, in Richfield Union Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 11 AM-2 PM & 5-8 PM Saturday, June 17, 2017 and Sunday, June 18, 2017 and 10-11 AM Monday, June 19, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home.
Terry was born at home in Richfield Township, MI on February 23, 1944, son of the late Charles and Viola (Gage) Shannon. He married Linda Hixenbaugh on July 15, 1972 and she preceded him in death on January 23, 2003. Terry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, retiring from the Army Reserves in 2004. He retired from AC Delphi in 2002 after more than 20 years of service. Terry was a hot rod enthusiast and enjoyed music, bird watching, John Wayne movie marathons, cookouts and spending time with his family. He was well known by his family as the “baby whisperer”.
Terry is survived by 7 children, Dale (Jody) Brady, Sherry West, Kimberly (Mick) Tattersfield, Jeremy (Amanda) Shannon, Heather (Smiley) McGraw, Sarah (Terry) Speck and Erin (Chad) Kennedy; proud papa to 17 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild on the way; long-time friends and brother at heart, Doug (Mouse) Rayner; 5 siblings, Laura (Jim) Sayers, Ruth (Archie) Wickham, Tom (Sally) Shannon, Maggie Schaffer and Sandy Schultz; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by 6 siblings.
