LEDFORD, Peggy – Of Flint, age 79, died Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Cody W. Mansfield officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Friendship Free Will Baptist Church.
Visitation 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Peggy was born in Marion, North Carolina on October 4, 1935,
daughter of the late Carlton and Annie (Moore) Holland.
She was a member of Friendship Free Will Baptist Church, where she played the piano for over 50 years.
She loved singing and playing Gospel Music. Peggy’s family and her church were her life.
Surviving are children, Kaye Ledford,
Joseph Ledford, Jr.,
Barbara and husband Kevin Wentworth,
Carl and wife Tracey Ledford;
grandchildren, Gina, David, Ashley, Jacob and Brandon;
11 great-grandchildren;
sister, Willette Lawing of Western, North Carolina;
brothers, Franklin and wife Barbara Holland,
Ronald and wife Lorraine Holland, Gene and wife Jane Holland, all of Western, North Carolina;
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Joseph "Ted" Ledford and sister, Joanne Elliott.
