Herrington, James B. of Flushing, age 85, died Saturday, April 21, 2018, at his home. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private committal service will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
James was born on September 10, 1932, the youngest of nine children of Berton and Ethel (Wilson) Herrington. He married Donalda Ivester on July 2, 1951, in Flint. James proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, where he received a Purple Heart. He worked for Consumers Energy for over 40 years. James loved gardening and tending to the birds. James was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Donalda; four children, Matthew Herrington, Timothy and wife Diana Herrington, Peter and wife Jodi Herrington; Katie and husband Joel Beltran; 12 grandchildren, Jason, Noah, Nathan, Kiel, Adam, Joshua, Rebecca, Wyatt, Zoe, Aidan, Benjamin, Sarah; and great-grandchildren.
