JOHNS, Edith Kathryn-- Age 91, of Swartz Creek, died October 15, 2014. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday October 20 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek, Fr. Louis Ekka Celebrant. Visitation will be held 6-9 Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, where a rosary will be prayed at 7 PM Sunday.
Visitation will be Monday at the church from 10 AM until the time of mass.

Interment will be 11:30 AM October 25 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Lake Linden, MI. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made for masses

Edith was born July 3, 1923 in Baltic, MI., the daughter of Oliver and Anna (Franzoi) Genovesi. She was a 1941 graduate of Painesdale South Range High School. She married Alden Joseph Johns in 1946; he preceded her in death in 1990. She had resided in Swartz Creek since 1960. Edith was a Bank Teller at Genesee Bank in Swartz Creek for 11 years retiring in 1970. She was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church.

Surviving are: 2 sister in laws, Barbara Genovesi of Swartz Creek, Bernadette Genovesi of Hubble MI; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Gloria M. Adams in 1980; 3 brothers, William Genovesi in 1995, Arnold Genovesi in 1995, Joseph Genovesi in 2013.

The family extends a special thank you to all the outstanding Swank Assisted Living employees, for the care they gave to Edith, and Heartland Hospice for a peaceful journey home.
