GORDON, Douglas Bryan – Of Flint, age 48, died Monday, November 14, 2011 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2011 at Bristol United Methodist Church, G-5285 Van Slyke Road, Reverend Marvin Herman and Reverend Rick Hodgeson officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to Bristol United Methodist Church or American Heart Association.
Visitation 1:30-8 p.m. Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Doug will be at the church from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the service. Doug was born in Flint, Michigan on November 7, 1963.
Doug loved music and was a graduate of Specs Howard School of Broadcasting. He wrote music and played in several local bands. He loved fishing and spending time on the lake in Oscoda. Surviving are parents, Bonnie and Eric Smith; sister, Melinda (Chris) Martone; nieces, Hayley, Lexy and Alyssa Martone; uncles, Larry (Joyce) Werner and Tom (Phyllis) Smith; aunts, Peggy Malone, Patsy Reiter and Eileen Suagee; cousins, Pamela (Bob) Oberski, Rebecca (Nathan) Todd, Angela (Jeremy) Schram, Rhonda (Len) Gilliam, Steven Werner and Sherri Werner; many family members and friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Elaine Williams, Irvine Werner, Derward and Caroline Smith; uncles, Thomas Malone and Melvin Reiter; special friend, Karen Ward.
