RAMSEY, Larry W. – Of Flint, age 53, died Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton, Father Steve Anderson officiating. Cremation will take place following the Mass. Those desiring may make contributions to Holy Redeemer Outreach Program. Visitation 11 a.m.– 2 p.m. and 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Ramsey will be at the church from 10:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the Mass. Larry was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 28, 1958, the son of James and Mary (Hardin) Ramsey. On July 18, 1981 he married Debra M. Hickman in Southgate, Michigan. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and was Knights of Columbus Council 3rd Degree. He was a volunteer at Neithercut Elementary School.
Mr. Ramsey was employed by GM and was a member of UAW Local #651. Surviving are wife, Debra; daughter, Becky and husband Nicholas Leonard of Flint; son, Matthew Ramsey of Flint; grandchildren, Brenna Catherine and Edwin William Leonard, Alexis Michelle Harrington, Alexander Thomas Harrington and Alecia Marie Ramsey;
father, James Ramsey of Taylor; sisters, Martha and husband Gary Cooper of Mattawan, Michigan and Brenda Ramsey of Taylor; brothers, Todd Ramsey of Waterford, Ernie and Terry Ramsey of Dearborn Heights; many nieces and nephews.
