VAN NORMAN Ervin D. - of Mt. Morris, formerly of Gladwin, age 78, died Saturday, January 20, 2018 at McLaren - Flint. Funeral services will be held at 1PM Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Minister John Southern officiating. Burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2PM until 8PM and on Thursday from 12PM until the time of service at 1PM. Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association.
Ervin was born April 7, 1939 in Mt. Morris, Michigan to the late Roy and Neta (Rich) Van Norman. He graduated from Mt. Morris High School in 1957. Ervin married Earlene Major in Mt. Morris on October 12, 1957. She preceded him in death on August 6, 2011. Mr. Van Norman retired from AC in 1996 with 30 years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local # 651. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tractors, playing cards, and traveling the country. Ervin especially loved to use his video camera and record home movies.
Surviving are: Son, Vince Van Norman; Grandchildren: Tina (Melvin) Kellogg, Amanda (Brandon) Knoertzer, Dakkotah Van Norman, and MaKenzie Van Norman; Great grandchildren, Melvin Kellogg Jr., Yazmin Kellogg, and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by: Sons: Vaughn, Brian, and Brent Van Norman; Brother, Alvin Van Norman; Sisters: Marion Van Norman and Elaine Ewing.
