Barbara Turner, age 77 of Flint, was born on March 22, 1942 in Oxford, Mississippi to parents, Ira and Ceola (Shaw) Shorter and she made her transition on Monday, April 1, 2019.
Barbara was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, and aunt. She was an avid cook, especially notable for her cornbread dressing. Besides her love for cooking, Barbara loved to sew, draw, and lately enjoyed watching Chopped, on Food network with her son Boris. Sister Turner was a devout Christian who loved her husband, children, and especially her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 55 years, Clifton Turner Jr., sons, Anthony (Dollene) Turner, Boris D. Turner, and daughter, Sa’tonya (Richard) Turner Russell, all of Flint, grandchildren, Dominique Turner, Dimitri Turner, VicTorrie Turner, Diamond Turner, Lily and Lailah Russell.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Ira Shorter, mother, Ceola (Shaw) Shorter, Sisters, Faye Turner and Jewel Thompson, and brother, William (Bill) Shorter.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 11 am - 2 pm and 4 pm – 8 pm at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc MI.
Family hour will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, 5802 Fleming Road, 48504, Flint, MI from 10:30-11:00 AM. Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM. Pastor, Eric Lewis presiding. Interment at Flint Memorial Park after funeral services. |
