PECK, Chester J. - Of Swartz Creek, formerly of Flint, Michigan, age 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Swank Assisted Living.
Chet lived a very full and good life to the wonderful age of 94.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 6th at 3 p.m. at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, MI. Rev. Jim Pope will be officiating.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Chet was born in Flint, MI on February 25, 1921 and lived his entire life here. He was among the greatest generation, serving in the Pacific during World War II. He retired from General Motors, after working at AC. Chet enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, hunting, fishing and listening to gospel music. Chet was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary; brother, Stan Swiatkowski, sister, Helen Peck; sister-in-law Margie Peck and nephew Paul Benjamin. Chet is survived by step-son, Jim Cummins (Anne); step- daughter, Elizabeth Dean (Max); special grandson, Richard Cummins and fiancé Christina Cardenas; loving granddaughter, Erin Cummins, Sister Charlotte Eddy; brothers, Ted Peck (Dorothy), Max Peck , and many devoted nieces and nephews who enjoyed caring for their special “Uncle Chet”. He was a wonderful man that will be missed by many. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the kind and compassionate staff at Swank Assisted Living. You gals made him feel loved and very special every day. Also, a big thank you to Scott, Amy & Peyonca from The Medical Team Hospice for their loving care & support.
