Joseph "Joe" Rundell
Age 84 of Flint passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at his home in Flint.
Joe was born April 13, 1940 in Owosso, the son of Isaac Joseph and Buelah (Palmer) Rundell.
He graduated from Bentley High School in the graduating class of 1959 and attended Mott Community College studying skill trades.
Joe enjoyed building FlintLock Muzzleloaders Loc, stock and barrel in the 1960's. Joe was proud to be elected commander in the 13th Pennsylvania regiment. The regiment performed battle reenactment in the 1970's and 80's. Joe was head of the art department at the Chevy V8 engine plant in Flint and designed their commemorative Coin to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of General Motors in the early 1990's.
Joe enjoyed the Lapeer Firelocks Muzzleloader Club Gun Show in Lapeer, Michigan. He was a world class Firearms Engraver and a member of the Firearms Engravers Guild of America and earned the centerfold in the publishing "American Engraver: The 21st Century" by C. Roger Bleile in 2010. Joe was the Contracted Sculptor for the car club "Back to the Brocks". He did several statues of General Motors Pioneers, many on the flat lot and Bishop Airport in Flint, Michigan.
He was Worshipful Master of the Vienna Township Masonic Lodge in Clio, Michigan. Joe was proud to have been a Master Mason like his father. Isaac Joseph, 100 years apart. Joe was a member of the "Engravers Guild of America" for many years, He earned the love, respect, trust, and loyalty from his wife, Zadra, his family and friends. He was a man of his word. His Art Creations, the love, and respect from his family and friends are forever his legacy. Joe will be missed for years to come.
He married Zadra Mae Clouse on August 20, 1960. She later predeceased him on November 17, 2024.
Joe worked at General Motors for several years before retiring.
Joe is survived by his children, Joseph Scott Rundell and Melinda Ann Rundell; grandson, Joseph Robert Rundell; great-grandson; Joseph Kevin Rundell: two sisters, Judy Clark of Flint and Mary Ellen Middlestadt of Gas Port, New York; along with several other loving family and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, Zadra Rundell; parents; Ida and Elva Clouse.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association.
