Rentschler, Joyce 6/5/1931 - 7/4/2016 Flushing, MI Joyce Helena Rentschler passed away peacefully in York, PA on July 4th, 2016, on one of her favorite holidays. She entered her eternal rest surrounded by her family. A resident of both Flushing and Flint, MI, she was 85 years old. During her life, she attended St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Flint, and St. Robert's Catholic Church in Flushing, where she was involved in several lay ministries. Joyce was an avid reader, a creative and talented artist, a gardener, and treasured friend to many. She had a gracious and kind heart, and a witty sense of humor. Even in her final days, those around her called her "sunshine." She will be long remembered and missed by all who knew her. Joyce was married to Virgil Rentschler for 62 years, who preceded her in death. She was the loving Mother of four children: Debra (Robert) Bradley, Gwen (Louis) Bobeda, Rick (Nina) Rentschler, and Cathy (Chuck) Agne. She was a sister to Karyn Pilon and the late William Mitchell, Jr. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Flint, MI, on Saturday September 3rd. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the church prior to the service at 11:00 am., with service following at noon. Father Thomas Firestone will officiate. A luncheon will be held in the church basement after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Society of America.
