Louise M. Goward, age 91 of Corunna, passed away Friday,
September 15, 2017 at the Durand Senior Care and Rehab
Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, September
20, 2017 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons
Chapel in Owosso.
Rev. Norman Beckwith will be officiating with burial to follow
in Greenwood Cemetery, Vernon.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday and
Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm.
Louise was born January 8, 1926 in Saginaw to the late Warner
and Bessie (Kline) Hagon.
She attended Hartland High School graduating in 1943.
On November 3, 1946 she married Orvan Goward at the
Evangelical United Brethren Church in Owosso.
Orvan later passed May 21, 1981.
Mrs. Goward was a Master Librarian for the Vernon District
Library for over 30 years, retiring in 2008.
She was also a professional seamstress and enjoyed reading,
crafts and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Goward is survived by her 3 children: Steven L. Goward of
Oakley, Susan K. (John) Graham of Ovid, Marti L. (Frank)
Boeff of Lennon; 5 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2
brothers: Howard (Faye) Hagon and Keith Hagon; 2 sisters:
Beatrice Brewer and Kathy Miller as well as many nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orvan; 4
brothers: Roger, Charles, Herbert, Lyle and a great
granddaughter, Philisity.
In lieu of flower, contributions are suggested to the Vernon
District Library or the Vernon United Methodist Church.
