MALZAHN, Joyce E. (Jerome) - Of Flint, age 89, died Friday, November 21, 2014 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Mike Warren officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to the family to provide food for shelter.
Visitation 5-8pm Sunday and 1-4pm and 6-8pm Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Malzahn was born in Saginaw, Michigan on September 14, 1925 and was the daughter of Milton and Irene Jerome. She married William Malzahn on August 10, 1946 and he preceded her in death on December 27, 1984. She was a 1944 graduate of Flint Central High School. Mrs. Malzahn was a switchboard operator for Michigan Bell Telephone during World War II. She then went on to be a sales clerk at both Maas and Smith Bridgman's.
Surviving are her 4 children, Gary and wife Carol, Randy and wife Joyce, Gay and husband Alan Sluder, Dawn and husband Simon Grant;
6 grandchildren, Eric, Daniel, Todd, Kelsey, Kayla and Kayce;
4 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Alyssa, Ava and Beau;
2 sisters-in-law, Neva Jerome and Leona Belle Roome.
She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jill; and brother, Bruce Jerome.
