McFADDEN, Edward Dale – Of Flint, age 64, fought cancer for the last 10 years until his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ called him home on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Medi Lodge of Montrose.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013 at North Flushing Baptist Church, 7500 Mt. Morris Road, Flushing, Pastor Dale Lewis officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
Visitation 1-8 p.m. Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Mr. McFadden will be at the church from 12 p.m. Saturday until the time of the service.
Edward was born in Flint, Michigan on March 30, 1949, the son of the late John Edward and Doris Burnelle (Williams) McFadden.
Mr. McFadden worked at GM for 35 years until he retired in 2001.
He loved Jesus, his family and friends in that order, with all his heart and showed it by trying to share his testimony, with anyone who would listen.
He loved his church family, North Flushing Baptist Church, where he was a member for over 25 years.
He was a Gospel singer and sang for the Lord whenever he could.
Mr. McFadden was in the Forgotten Man Jail Ministry for over 15 years, a ministry close to his heart.
Surviving are wife of 45 years, Corrine, (Chee-Chee) Simons;
son, Bryan McFadden;
daughter, Sarina McFadden;
five grandchildren, Cody McFadden, Ashley Mallory, Rachel Ritter, Brittany McFadden, Corey McFadden and great-granddaughter, Elayna Mallory;
one brother, John (Susie) Hastings.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; three sisters; many aunts, uncles, one niece and three nephews.
