HASTEDT, Roger D. – of Adrian formerly of Davison, age 59, died Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Lenawee Medical Care Facility in Adrian, Michigan. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Ted Stephens officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday, August 7, 2017 from 1-8 PM and Tuesday from 10AM until time of service at 11 AM. Memorial contributions in Roger’s name may be made to American Lung Association or Michigan Humane Society.
Roger was born April 9, 1958 in Flint, Michigan to the late Roy Elling and Marion Crawford (Buchan) Hastedt. He graduated from Kearsley High School with the class of 1976. Roger attended Mott College and received a Bachelor’s Degree. On June 7, 1997 he married Patricia Smith in Davison, Michigan. Roger worked as a machinist for GM at plant 81 and retired after 32 ½ years in 2008. He was a member of UAW local 599. Roger enjoyed rebuilding motors on antique cars. He also liked to hunt and spend time with his family. Roger was a very selfless person who always took care of other people before himself.
Surviving are his wife of 20 years Patricia; Children: Michelle (Stephen) Bachmeyer, Ann Hayden; Grandchildren: Brittney Singleton, Kayla Singleton, Cody Boylan, Jeffrey Singleton, Adrian Boylan, Brendan Hayden; 5 Great grandchildren; 2 Brothers: Bruce (Sally) Hastedt, Harry Hastedt; 1 Sister: Virginia (John) Williams; several nieces and nephews; 2 dogs Toby and Teddy.
