BUCY, James E. - Of Millington, age 79, passed away peacefully just before sunrise the morning of Tuesday, June 4, 2024, in the house that he built listening to the sounds of the bullfrogs in the pond and the crickets in the woods. He was home with his wife, Diane, and surrounded by family and his books with his dogs at his side.
Cremation has taken place and no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of one’s choice.
James was born in Sioux City, Iowa on April 21, 1945, the son of the late Earl and Margaret (Hurn) Bucy. James was a quiet, hardworking man who took care of his love for 58 years of marriage. James planted his garden early this year so that his roadside veggie stand can be plentiful and his Dahlias can greet Diane and visitors each morning. He was employed with Delphi for 40 years as a Tool and Die Maker, retiring in 2006. He was an animal lover. James was an avid reader. He also loved to garden and mow his yard.
Surviving are wife, Diane;
daughter, Laura and husband Brian Rowley of Traverse City, MI
grandchildren, Alexandria (Akash) Mehrotra, Adrian (Levi) Hair, Anna, Erica and James;
sister, Marsha and husband Dennis Petrus;
many nieces and nephews;
and beloved dogs, Teddy Bear and Oreo.
He was preceded in death by his son, Eric.
