BURRIS, Charles Allen – of Flint, MI, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be made to his beloved St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Charles was born in Atkins, Arkansas on May 31, 1935 son of the late Rev. John E. and Alta (Gregory) Burris. He married Emma Agnes Pew on September 16, 1954. She preceded him in death on April 15, 2010; reunited again exactly 10 years to the day. He retired from Chevrolet Manufacturing “Chevy in the Hole” in 1984 after 30 years. Charles had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers baseball. He could fix just about anything, and enjoyed tinkering at his workbench. Charles will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Charles is survived by son, Ronald Burris, daughters; Linda Burris and Janet Burris Lee; grandchildren, Dana (Nate) Wakefield, Kristin Burris, Gina (Aaron) Synor; and four great-grandchildren.
