THORNTON, Kenneth Charles – of Mt. Morris, age 72, died Thursday, May 26, 2016 at McLaren of Flint. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are planned. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County.
Ken was born February 14, 1944 in Muskegon, MI to the late Charles and Mabel (Olar) Thornton. He was a 1962 graduate of Whittemore-Prescott High School. He was a Flint area resident most of his life. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Thornton retired from AC Spark Plug and was a member of the UAW Local #659. Ken enjoyed his family, motorcycles, motorsports racing, riding his golf cart, hunting and fishing. At one time he was a DJ for WIOS in Tawas City. He was a very energetic, humorous and fun person. Everyone he met liked him.
Surviving are: Sons: Brook Thornton (companion Bridget Hamper) of Flushing, Sean Thornton of Howell; Grandchildren: Tyler, Sean, Malcomb and Lucien; Sisters: Beverly Hogaboam of Tawas City, Candie Shepherd of Davison; nieces and nephews.
