Age 75, of Flint, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024, with her family by her side. A funeral service will take place 1:00 pm, Monday, July 22, 2024, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Ivy’s family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm; and on Monday from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to Carriage Town Ministries. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Yvonne "Ivy" was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on November 28, 1948, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Lemar and Ofelia (Saladana) Smith. Ivy worked for General Motors for over 30 years in many capacities, starting on the Production Line, from there she went into Skilled Trades. Ivy retired in 2005 from Quality Control. In her free time, Ivy enjoyed fishing and swimming, picking strawberries, listening to music, and dancing. Ivy also enjoyed watching Dr. Phil, The Price Is Right, and Let’s Make A Deal. She also loved spending time with her family and friends, traveling-especially to Colorado and Canada. Ivy was known for her love of pull tab gambling as well as a long-time member of American Legion Post #64.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Lelonnie and husband, Mark Alexander, Corrina Cutcher, and Christopher Travis; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; special friends: Sue Adams, and Suzette Fraley; and many other family members and numerous American Legion Post friends.
Ivy was preceded in death by her parents, and her two brothers: Bob and John. |
