MAKI, Carolyn Ann – Of Grand Blanc, age 84, died Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Brookdale of Grand Blanc.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Friday, January 24, 2020 in the Father Bush Parish Center at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 South Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Father William F. Wegher officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m.
Mrs. Maki will be at Father Bush Parish Center at 9:30 a.m. Friday until the time of the Mass.
Carolyn was born in Ashland, Wisconsin on March 7, 1935, the daughter of Henry and Anna P. (Sobotka) Nye.
She married Rudolph E. Maki in Flint, Michigan.
She was a member of Holy Redeemer, but had been attending and receiving Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Blanc and was a devout Catholic.
Mrs. Maki was a Medical Transcriptionist for 26 years at St. Joseph Hospital, Genesys and was past President of the American Transcriptionist Society.
She was a volunteer, Girl Scout and Boy Scout Leader and a seamstress.
She enjoyed time with family, grandchildren and friends.

Carol Bartsch, Sally (William) Lee,
Denise (Michael) Simek,
Steven (Gloria) Maki,
Clifford (Patty) Maki, Gregory Maki and
Angela (Eric) Bakus;
grandchildren, Jonathon (Heather) Townsend,
Brian (Suzie) Townsend, Stephanie (Charles) Craig,
Matthew (Aris) Lee,
Joshua (Alyssa) Lee,
Jeremy Lee,
Andrew and Alex Simek,
Nicole and Joseph Maki,
Paul (Denise) Beverly,
Reid and Riley Bakus;
9 great-grandchildren;
siblings, Mary Swanson, Harold (Cynthia) Nye and Ronald (Chuckie) Nye.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Rudolph E. Maki, on October 19, 1989; sibings, William (Elaine) Nye, Donna Konieska, (Wayne) Gerri Iehl and Leonard Swanson.
