JOHNSON, Eugene K. “Gene” – Of Flint, and Ft. Myers, FL, age 82, died Thursday, June 15, 2017 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Central Church of the Nazarene G-1261 West Bristol Road, Flint,
Pastor Stephen Anthony and Pastor Dave Hintz officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Those desiring may make contributions to the Pollak Children's Fund.
Visitation 1-8 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Gene was born in Flint, Michigan on June 10, 1935. He graduated from Mandeville High School in 1954 and he proudly served in the Michigan National Guard. On April 7, 1956, he married Lois Clark. He was a member of Central Church of the Nazarene, where he was involved in many mission trips. He was an avid outdoorsman and golfer. Gene enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He retired from GMSPO in 1991.
Surviving are wife, Lois;
son, Dennis (Teri);
granddaughter, Jennifer (Nicholas) Pollak;
great-grandchildren, Hailey, Brooklyn, Brennan, Landon and Owen;
sister, Rita Ballard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Vera; grandson, Sgt. Joe Johnson; great-granddaughter, Katelyn Pollak; brothers, Archie, Ivan and Herbert.
