Passed away Friday, May 16, 2014 after a lengthy illness in Indianapolis, IN, at the age of 32 years. Shannon Kay Daenzer was born on July 24, 1981. She graduated from Frankenmuth High School in 2000. Shannon earned her associate degree in nursing from Delta College. She was a former employee of the Lutheran Home and previously worked at Covenant Healthcare as an R.N. She married Matthew Vasicek on May 5, 2007. He survives her. Shannon was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church and assistant leader for the Girls of Grace Ministry.
Shannon is survived by her parents, Gary and Lori Daenzer, sister, Melissa Daenzer, mother-in-law, Alice Vasicek, brother-in-law, Adam Vasicek, grandparents, Ernst and Mildred Daenzer, and Dorothy Bierlein, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Norbert L. Bierlein, and father-in-law, David Vasicek.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. and 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. The Rev. Mark D. Brandt will officiate with burial between services at Blessed Trinity Cemetery with Fr. Robert Byrne officiating. Shannon’s family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
