Mrs. Linda Marie Caruthers was born October 24,1944 in Carlisle, Arkansas the daughter of Lem, Sr. and Beulah (Staten) Powell in graduated from J.S. Felix High School class of 1962 in Marion, Ark.
She received her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development from Jordan College in 1983 and was employed by Flint Community Schools as a substitute teacher and a lunch aide and where she received Holmes Middle Schools’ Parent of the year award in 1994 because of her constant involvement in school activities and her love for children.
She was a resident of Mt. Morris, Mi., and a devoted member of the Refugee Church of Flint Family who loved singing to the Lord.
She leaves to cherish her memory; 6 daughters, Benita Caruthers of Mt. Morris, Mi., Suzette Caruthers of Burton, Mi., Shena Caruthers of Flint Twp., Mi., Shermeka Caruthers of Muncie, Ind., Veronica Caruthers of Indianapolis, Ind., and Shamara Caruthers of Flint, Mi. 1 son John Caruthers III of Grand Blanc, Mi.
9 grandchildren, Brandon Caruthers, Rasheed Marshall, Tyrece Allen, Kiara Marshall, Linda Allen, Delray Allen, Jr., and Marquis Allen all of Flint, Mi., Kairon and Zakai Caruthers of Muncie, Ind.
5 great grandchildren, Amarion Cole, Talia, Taylor, Trae and Tyrece Allen, Jr. all of Flint, Mi., sister, Patricia Brown of Chicago, Ill. 2 brothers Lem Powell, Jr. of Chicago, Ill and Harry James Powell of Elgin, Ill. A host of other relatives and friends including father of her children, John Henry Caruthers, brother in law, Allen Brown,
Special friends, Regina Payton, Esther Dupens, Darlene Baker and Josie Pettigrew. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Suzanne Caruthers, granddaughter, Shania Allen, parents, Lem and Beulah Powell, Sr.
