GLEASON, MICHAEL JOHN ELDON “Mike” – of Davison, age 90, passed away December 19, 2019 at McLaren Hospital in Mt. Clemens. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 AM Monday, December 23, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton St., Davison, MI; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Burial will be in Davison Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 AM until the time of service on Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul St. Peters, Mt. Clemens and McLaren Hospice.
Mike was born in Grand Rapids, MI on January 24, 1929, son of the late John Patrick and Mary Ellen (Talon) Gleason. Mike was the oldest of nine children. He graduated from Flushing High School. He was a member of the Iron Workers Local #25, retiring after 67 years of service. One of his greatest accomplishments was the Mackinac Bridge and the Renaissance Center. Mike served as the Richfield Township Supervisor and was a Richfield Township Treasurer, both for 8 years. He was one of the original officers of the Davison-Richfield Fire Authority. He was also a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 3rd degree #2781, 4th degree assembly #1718 and the Order of the Hibernian. Mike worked at 67th District court and was a volunteer at St. Vincent DePaul in Mt. Clemens.
Mike is survived by his children, Michael (Libby), Patrick (Rise), Cynthia (David) McDaniel; step-daughter, Sandra Morgan; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; siblings, Warren (Jan) Gleason, Walter Gleason and Wanda Topham. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen (Maisie).
