Mynsberge, George A. of Flushing, age 93, died Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Hyde Park Memory Care. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2018, at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Jonathan Perrotta will officiate. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, Indiana. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Thursday at the church until the time of the Mass. A Rosary will be prayed 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the National Arbor Day Foundation.
George was born in South Bend, Indiana on November 15, 1925, the son of Charles L. and Anna T. (Gillis) Mynsberge. He married Phyllis Brock in June of 1950 and she preceded him in death in 1968. He married Judith Wesley on August 8, 1970. George proudly served in the U.S. Army during World II and the Navy during the Korean War. He loved golfing, gardening, and woodworking.
George is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judith; children, Mark G. and wife Diane Mynsberge, Lawrence C. and wife MaryAnn Mynsberge, Thomas R. and wife Susan Mynsberge, James H. and wife Cherilynn Mynsberge, Daniel L. and wife Kayanne Mynsberge, Anna L. Mynsberge, Susan M. Jerrems; grandchildren, Shannon, Heath, Hannah, Lucas, Monica, Ryan, Ashley, Jennifer, Nathaniel, Kelsey, Jared, Nickole, Lisa; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Mynsberge of Mishawaka, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Eugene; brothers, Robert, Maurice, Alphonse; sisters, Lorraine and Irene; and son-in-law, William.
