Robert Harold Gragg, "Honey", age 92, of Davison, formerly of Paragould, Arkansas, died Friday, July 27, 2018. He was born November 2, 1925 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to parents Corrie and Letha (McKelvey) Gragg.
Mr. Gragg married Doris Campbell on September 27, 1943 in Paragould, Arkansas. He was drafted in 1944 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Robert was stationed in Germany during the war. He worked many years for General Motors, at the Chevrolet Plant in Flint. Bob left General Motors to start his own company, installing aluminum siding. The company was very successful, working all around the Flint area. Bob was also a farmer, working many crops and tending to his chickens. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, construction, feeding the birds, making birdhouses and traveling out West to hunt elk and antelope. Mr. Gragg was a longtime member of the Davison VFW Post #4087 and the Swartz Creek Masonic Lodge #458. Robert always enjoyed time spent with family, especially his grandchildren.
Honey is survived by his loving wife: Doris; daughter: Caroline Stanke of Columbiaville; grandchildren: Jerry Wayne Stanke, Kim Fletcher, Cindy Stanke, Vicky Rosser, Bobby Phillips and Sherry Robinson; 13 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren...and more on the way. He was preceded in death by his daughter: Sandra Harlow; son-in-law: Gerald W. Stanke; grandchild: Kelly Phillips; great-grandchild: Joshua Pilly; sister: Irene Sides and his parents.
Visitation will be 10-11AM Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. Robert’s funeral service will be 11AM Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at the funeral home…followed immediately by military honors under the auspices of American Legion Post #16 Honor Guard. Pastor Curtis Suuppi will officiate the service, with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery in Mt. Morris. Memorial contributions can be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
