BEST, Harvey George - age 66, of Durand, died Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at his residence. Visitation will be held 1-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where a sharing time will be lead by Rev. Deb Cox at 6:30 PM Tuesday. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) . Mr. Best was born December 8, 1950 in Flint, the son of Charles and Maxine (Vanaerman) Best. He retired from DuPont as the Director of Data Processing after 26 years of service. Mr. Best was a member of the Durand F.O.E. Aerie #3851 and the Durand Moose Lodge #2508. He is survived by two children, Ethan (Jennifer) Best of Wyandotte and Melissa (Jarrith) Kiel of Flushing; two grandchildren, Brandon White and Tyler Coons; great-granddaughter, Lilly White; father, Charles Best of Mt. Morris; sister, Sandra Burtrum of Ypsilanti; nephew, Mark Manus. He was preceded in death by: his mother, Maxine Best.
