STATZER, Roby D. – Of Burton for 37 years, age 71, died Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Ascension Genesys Hospital.
Cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
Contributions may be made to Kidney Transplant Society or Genesee County Humane Society.
Roby was born in Flint, Michigan on November 30, 1952, the son of the late Roby and Elsie (Kemp) Statzer. He graduated from Flint Central High School, Class of 1970. On March 21, 1987, he married Christine Geurin in Flint, Michigan. Roby retired from AC Spark Plug where he worked as a foreman, quality control inspector, truck driver and press operator. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc. Roby loved his Harley motorcycles and had many classic cars. He enjoyed music of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. Roby was also a devoted Detroit Lions fan and enjoyed computers, especially playing Solitaire. He also enjoyed traveling to Florida and was an animal lover, especially cats and dogs, especially Shelties.
Surviving are wife, Christine;
Son, James M. Metivier;
Grandchildren, John M. Gassel, Michael J. Metivier, Katie F. Metivier, Korra L. Metivier, and Brandon Rose;
11 great-grandchildren;
Sister, Linda Statzer-Willis;
Sister-in-law, Melba J. Couch;
Brothers-in-law, Lawrence R. Geurin and Jimmie L. Duncan;
Special nephews, Christopher, Corey, Jason and Joseph;
And many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela M. Metivier and brother-in-law, George R. Willis.
