Bernard, Dexter D. age 81 went to be with the Lord Monday, March 26, 2012. Funeral service 11 am Friday, March 30 at Trinity Baptist Church, 4222 N. Elms Rd., Flushing. Family will receive visitors from 9 am Friday until time of service. Pastor Ron Scott officiating. Dexter served in the United States Armed Forces 1st Division 12th Cavalry in Japan. He retired from GM in 1983. He leaves behind his wife Barbara of 61 years, his son Michael (Lori) Bernard, his daughters Peggy (Dennis) Kurtz, Pam (Brad) Clifford, 9 beloved grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Dexter was preceded in death by his daughter Marjorie Carriveay and son Kenneth Bernard.
