PHILE, George H. - Of Flint, age 88, died Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 2p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Steve Wood officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to Genesee County Humane Society.
Visitation 3-8p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
George was born in Pontiac, MI on November 13, 1922 and was a resident of the Flint area most of his life. He married Elsie Grover on April 16, 1949 in Lapeer and she preceded him in death in 2001. George served in the U.S. Army Artillery during World War II and received 4 Bronze Stars. Mr. Phile was employed by General Motors Fisher Body I for 46 1/2 years, retiring in November, 1988. Surviving are daughter, Debra Phile of Flint; sister-in-law, Pauline of Attica;
many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son, David, in 1978, brother, Al in 2011, sister, Elsie and sister-in-law, Lillian Phile.
