Annaliese Elizabeth (Hodina) Trethewey
Age 81 of Owosso passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Hurley Medical Center.
Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Nelson-House Funeral Home with Pastor Ray Strawser officiating. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Wednesday from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Annaliese was born September 20, 1933 in Bronx, New York, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Marion) Hodina. She grew up in the Hudson and Albany, New York area.
Annaliese graduated high school and proudly served in the United States Navy from 1953 to 1957.
She was a member of the YMCA, YWCA, American Legion, VFW and Women's Auxiliary.
She married Dr. Clifford A. Trethewey Sr. on November 3, 1962 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Annaliese was a homemaker and spent her life raising and caring for her family and was always willing to volunteer her time where needed. She had been employed in her earlier years as an airline steward for Northwest Airlines, farmer, secretary and she spent time working in the medical field.
Annaliese is survived by her husband Dr. Clifford A. Trethewey Sr.; sons Clifford Trethewey Jr. and Joseph A. Trethewey; daughters Annaliesa M. Trethewey and Amber M. Trethewey; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; many other loving family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Legion, Women's Auxiliary, VFW or VA, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, St. Judes Cancer Center and Children's Hospital.
