Evelyn R. Bohnsack-Stark, age 91, of Higgins Lake, formerly of Davison and Mt. Morris, died June 7, 2011 at Horizon Senior Living in St. Helen. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 14th at St. Elizabeth Episcopal Church in Roscommon from 10 AM until funeral services at Noon with Rev. Mary Shortt officiating. A graveside service will be held at Davison Cemetery 2 PM Wednesday, June 15th with Pastor Hal Phillips officiating.

Born in Flint on July 14, 1919 she was the daughter of Harold Jerome and Edna Belle (Kile) Clark. She was raised in Richfield Center and was a 1937 graduate of Davison High School. She married Fred Bohnsack in Standish May 30, 1940. They had four children and Evelyn was involved in their many activities, becoming a leader for both cub scouts and girl scouts. The family summered at Higgins Lake since 1959 and she made it home moving permanently in 1973. Fred preceded her in death May 27, 1967.

Following the move to Higgins Lake, Evelyn worked for the Roscommon County Council on Aging and was involved in client services performing intake and evaluation duties. She married again on April 4, 1987 to Richard C. Stark in Roscommon.

Evelyn was an avid Tigers baseball fan and her favorite things include Koegel’s hot dogs, pickle bologna and a can of beer. She enjoyed nature and being outdoors especially camping, taking walks, and bird watching. She enjoyed RVing and traveling to different places. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Episcopal Church and her faith led her to start Bible Study at The Horizon Senior Living in St. Helen.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff members of The Horizons Senior Living and Hospice Advantage for the loving care and support Evelyn received.

She is survived by her husband Richard of Titusville, Florida; four children, Ed (Stephanie) Bohnsack of Higgins Lake, Robert (Lynn) Bohnsack of Zilwaukee, Dave (Kelly) Bohnsack of Clio and Marie (Dennis) Weaver of Flint; four step-children, Ann Tveitnes, George Stark, Theresa Ponds and Jenny Stark; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a brother, Mervin (Donna) Clark of Genesee County.

In addition to her first husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Lorena Jackson and Norma Clement.

Donations in Evelyn’s memory may be made to the Higgins Lake Foundation, St. Elizabeth Episcopal Church Memorial Fund or Hospice Advantage. Arrangements are by Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon.
