BARCOME, Clare N. - Age 83, of Fenton, died Thursday, June 28, 2018. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton. Fr. David Harvey celebrant, assisted by Deacon Ron Kenney. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Monday from 1-7 PM and at church Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of Mass. A rosary will be prayed at the funeral home Monday at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Clare was born May 3, 1935 in Flint, the son of Clarence and Marciell (Constine) Barcome. He married Dodie Heath November 23, 1990 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Fenton. He retired from GM Buick Engineering in 1991 after 30 years of service. He also raced cars at Auto City Speed Way and was a test car driver for GM. He was a member of the Buick Club and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Clare loved to take his grandchildren fishing.
Surviving are: his wife, Dodie; children, Dena Barcome-King, Cheryl (Keith) Poulson, and Jeffrey (Rolanda) Barcome; step children, John (Vera) Heath and Jennifer (Wayne) Harris; 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Joyce (Pierre) Rousseau and Sharon (Verle) Wetherwax; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cynthia; son-in-law, Andrew King; and sister, Sharlene. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
