Mr. Roger Eric Bearss Sr., age 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 16, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at his home.
Roger was born on May 6, 1941, in Gladwin, Michigan to parents Ralph & Dorthea (Drummond) Bearss. Roger married the love of his life, Sonya Denman on July 21, 1959. Together they shared 53 years of marriage before her passing in October of 2012. Roger retired from General Motors as a supervisor. He loved his cats, and old school country music. Above all, he loved time spent with his family & friends, and being a grandfather.
He is survived by his daughter, Shawn (George) Faris; son, Roger (Ronna) Bearss II; six grandchildren: Christena (Todd), Antonio, Kimberly (Jeremy), Briar (Chloe), Bryce, and Brynn; four great-grandchildren: Michael, Dallas, Brayden, and Noah; brother, Ralph (Maryann) Bearss; sister, Martha (Gill) Burgeson; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sonya; parents Ralph & Dorthea; brother, Larry and Nancy Bearss; and sister, Ada and Leon Beers.
Special thanks to his grandson, Tony, who took such wonderful care of his grandfather. Thanks to hospice nurse, Neema, who helped us get through this.
In keeping with Roger’s wishes cremation has been accorded and private urn burial taken place. |
