ELMER, Lloyd L. – Of Flint Township, formerly of Harrisville, Michigan, age 94, died Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Hurley Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 2051 West Maple Avenue, Flint, Pastor Paul Boerger officiating.
Burial in Mount Joy Cemetery in Harrisville, Michigan.
Those desiring may make contributions to the Glaucoma Foundation.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Mr. Elmer will be at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service.
Lloyd was born in Harrisville, Michigan on November 11, 1922, the son of the late Harvey and Mary Elmer.
On September 16, 1950 he married Mary Elizabeth Long.
He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and then Lamb of God Lutheran Church.
He loved farming and keeping busy working on projects.
Mr. Elmer worked and retired from GM in 1977.
He worked for the Defoe Ship Building Plant in Bay City during World War II.
Surviving are wife, Mary “Betty”;
2 children, Lloyd (Norma) and Mark (Laurie);
3 grandchildren, Deidre Snider (Thaddeus Albers),
Nicole (Brandon) Dinser and Brett Elmer;
3 great-grandchildren, Isis, Isaac and Colt;
2 step-great-grandchildren, Logan and Andrew.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Dorothy, Howard, Irene, Mary and Helen.
