LANYI, Victor Steve – of Grand Blanc, MI, age 85, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on September 29, 2020 at his home after a long battle with cancer. A Funeral Service will be held 11am Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Faith Lutheran Church, 12534 Holly Rd, Grand Blanc, MI 48439; Pastor Robert Scott officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church. Victor was born in Flint, MI on June 15, 1935 to the late Steve and Josephine Lanyi. He graduated from Flint Technical High School in 1954, before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. Victor retired from General Motors V8 Engine after 34 years. He married Judith Tune, the love of his life, on May 5, 1961 and they had 59 wonderful years together. Victor was an avid hunter and fisherman. He and Judith spent 25 years wintering in the beautiful Florida Keys at outdoor resorts in Long Key, where they made many wonderful friends and enjoyed fishing on the ocean in their boat, the “Hunky Dory”. Victor is survived by his loving wife, Judith; children, Victoria Conquest of Burton and son, Brian (Susan) Lanyi of Grand Blanc; grandsons, Joshua Conquest of Burton and Nicholas Lanyi (fiancé, Madilynn Stapleton) of Oak Park, MI. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Elizabeth LeClair, Helen Hubbard and Josephine Bills.
The family would like to thank Rebecca, Sarah and Scott from Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care of Victor, as well as daughter-in-law, Susan Lanyi RN for her loving, professional guidance and care.
