HEINE, Walter A. – of Clio, age 73, died Friday, March 30, 2018 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11AM Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 520 Butler Street, Clio. Pastor Erik Cloeter officiating. Burial to follow in Thetford Township Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at the church on Tuesday from 11AM until 8PM and at the church on Wednesday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM.
Walter was born March 26, 1945 in Flint, Michigan to the late Walter and Ruth (Lang) Heine. He graduated from Clio High School in 1963. Walter married Marcia Ann Bone on September 21, 1963 in Clio. She preceded him in death on August 14, 2007. Mr. Heine retired from General Motors in 1997 with 35 years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local #599. Walter was a lifelong member of Messiah Lutheran Church. He enjoyed riding Harley’s, playing cards, and going to the casino.
Surviving are: Children: Cindy (Chris) Weller, Lisa (Tim Sissons) Maine, and John Heine; Grandchildren: Holly (Nate) Ward, Joshua (Veronica DeKalita) Smith, Steven (Caitlin) Maine, and Sommer (Dustin) Jones; Great grandchildren: Auston, Cash, Aaron, Nolan, and Aria; Sisters: Marlene (Al) Jordan, Madeline (Eugene) Renico, and Sister-in-law, Chris Heine.
