ROCHE, Helen – of Burton, age 96, passed away June 27, 2015 at her residence. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Debbie Line Yencer officiating. Burial will be in Cottage Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Wednesday and 10-11 AM Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.
Helen was born in Richfield Township, MI on July 6, 1918, daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha (Roat) Sliker. She enjoyed traveling, reading and gardening. Helen was a lifelong waitress, from the age of 14 well into her 70’s.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Carol Wightman, Billie Gusie; grandchildren, Tom (Tina) Wightman, Helene Wightman, Jim Wightman, Deborah Benda, Julie Krupa; 6 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her sons-in law, Don Wightman and Fred Gusie; sisters, Loretta Kruse, Eileen Sliker, Celia Sliker and Doris (Bob) Cardwell. A special thank you to Helen’s granddaughter Debbie for the compassionate, devoted love and care for the past 8 years.
