Donald J. Blazo
Age 68 of Oakley passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Memorial Healthcare.
A Graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at St. Michael's Cemetery in Oakley. A Memorial luncheon will follow at the Oakley Village Hall.
Donald was born on March 27, 1948 to Joseph and Jessie (Laymah) Blazo in Owosso. He graduated from Chesaning Union High School with the class of 1966. He served in the United States Army deploying to Vietnam as a truck driver in 1968-69.
Don married Janet Elaine Wilson on September 21, 1974 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Oakley. During his life, he worked as a Truck driver for Hancor and ACC/Penski for many years. He enjoyed playing music, and he was always quick with a joke to make others laugh. He loved hosting big family gatherings all seasons of the year.
Don is survived by his very special granddaughter, Sara Moffit; his 3 children, Michael (Tora) Wilson, Jeff (Sandy) Lopez, and Michelle Moffit, all of Fowlerville; his brother-in-law, Larry (Karla) Wilson of Oakley; his four sisters-in-law, Nancy (Dick) Wilson of Arkansas, Wendy (Willie) Wilson of Florida, Lori Hodges of Missouri, and Becky (Cliff) Dunec of Standish; his grandchildren, Cassandra Silverston, Michael and Hunter Wilson, Matt Moffit, and Tyler, Trevor, and Morgan Lopez; his great-grandchildren, Brandon, Maddison, and Lilly Silverston, and Xaiver and Jessa Moffit; as well as several nieces and nephews. Don also had some wonderful friends, Mike and Linda Giesken, Jim and Fern VanLuven, Grady and Kim Suggs, and Gale and Tonya Moore.
He is predeceased by his loving wife of 34 years, Janet Blazo; his parents, Joseph and Jessie Blazo; his granddaughter, Elizabeth Canfield; his brothers, Larry, Bob, and Jerry Blazo; his sisters, Arlene (Bernie) Wicke, and Loretta Ketchum; his brother-in-law, Daniel Wilson; and his sisters-in-law, Barbara Wilson, Carol Moore, JeanAnn Beiers, and Debbie Hunt. |
