FOERSTER, Russell Neil – of Burton, age 82, passed away November 12, 2015 at his residence. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Monday, November 16, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Deacon Ron Kenney officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Sunday and 10-11 AM Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a Veterans organization of one’s choice.
Russell was born in Davison, MI on May 7, 1933, son of the late Walter and Helen (Sauvage) Foerster. Russell served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954, stationed in England. He married Lois Marie Phillips on March 4, 1959. Russell was an avid outdoorsman, loved sports, gardening and history. He retired from GM as a Skilled Tradesman after 38.8 loyal years of service.
Russell is survived by his wife, Lois; sons, Gary (Barbara) Foerster, Dale (Debi) Foerster and Glen Foerster all of Burton; granddaughters, Nicole Shaw, Jillian Potter, both of Burton; sister, Shirley Gray of Davison; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Randy Foerster, brother, Robert Foerster; sister, Karen Harrison.
