Howard, Thomas I. - Age 74 of Swartz Creek, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2013. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Homes; Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Deacon Rod Amon officiating. Burial in Byron Cemetery, Byron. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 5-8 PM and Saturday from 12-1 PM. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Swartz Creek Area Veteran’s Memorial. Thomas was born in Detroit on February 5, 1939, and lived most of his life in Byron. Thomas was a loving brother and father and a devoted friend. He graduated from GMI and worked for General Motors, retiring as a tool & die maker. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, archery, and skeet shooting. He is survived by his sister, Carlene Kovacs; three children, Craig (Andrea) Howard, Margaret (James) Joyce, and Heather (James) Sparks. Grandchildren included Bradley (Krystal), Benjamin (Megan), Olivia, Desiree, Joshua and Ashley. Proceeding him in death was his father, Carl and mother, Olive, sister, Shirley, brother, Robert, daughter Lisa, and son Michael.
