FAIN, Mary E. – Of Flint, age 65, died Monday, April 15, 2013 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2013
St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 609 East Fifth Avenue, Flint, Father John Fain officiating.
Burial in Watertown Cemetery in Fostoria, Michigan.

Visitation 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Fain will be at the church from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the Mass.

Those desiring may make contributions to St. Michael’s Catholic Church or St. John Vianney Catholic School.

Mary was born in Alpena, Michigan on August 14, 1947, the daughter of Shirley and Mary (McGuigan) Solomon.

On August 4, 1972 she married James Fain in Flint at St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and was involved in a number of parish activities, including the Altar Society and the parish Bingo. She passed on her Faith to her children and believed strongly in Catholic education.

She was very involved in her children’s school activities and extra curricular activities, including being a Girl Scout Leader and a Summer Baseball Coach.

She enjoyed reading and going to historical sites and cemeteries.
She was extremely devoted to her family and was proud of her grandchildren.

Surviving are husband, James;

children, Father John Fain,
Dr. Christopher Fain,
Mary and husband Jeremy Phillips,
Erin and husband Robert Parker,
Jacob Fain,
Anne and husband Brian Shortt;

grandchildren, Elizabeth, Shane, Brooklynn, Ella, Emma and Jillian;

step-brothers and sisters, Dean, Ardith, Audrey and Marietta;

niece, Theresa Peters;
nephews, Thomas, John and Kevin Solomon;
great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas Solomon Sr. and Max Solomon; sisters, Sandra Bobbit and Bessie Andrews and her beloved dog, Daisy.
