EMMEL, Jeffrey Thomas – of Montrose, age 65, died Sunday, February 2, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Michigan. A time of sharing will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday, February 6, 2020 at the funeral home. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. There will also be a Celebration of Life held at a later date to be determined. Memorial contributions can be made to the family for future designation.
Jeffrey was born March 9, 1954 in Flint, Michigan to the late Corvel and Shirley (Wilson) Emmel. He grew up in Flint, Michigan and graduated from Southwestern High School with the class of 1972. On May 10, 1984 he married Karla Carlson in Flint, Michigan. Prior to his retirement in 2014, he worked as a Fork Truck Operator for Burkland in Goodrich, Michigan with 18 years of service. He also worked at GM for several years. Jeffrey enjoyed golfing, deer hunting, playing cards, and working on cars. He also loved spending time with his family and all his grandchildren.
Surviving are: Wife of 35 years, Karla Emmel; Children, Jeffrey (Michelle) Emmel II, Tammy Sumner, Jack (Casey) Emmel, Jessica Emmel; Grandchildren, Jeffrey Emmel III, Seletta Huron, Dominick Huron, Sydney Waldron, Hadley Emmel, Kylee Emmel, Skylar Emmel, Bravery Emmel; Great Grandson, Lincoln Emmel; Siblings, Harvey (Jing) Emmel, Steve (Rochelle) Emmel, Greg (Linda) Emmel; several nieces and nephews.
